Custom Workshops
Custom workshops begin when a client has an idea and contacts me to see what might be possible and what I can "come up with." Many times this also involves The Great Dain if there is construction and technical work to be done. We brainstorm ideas and come up with a proposal for the project based upon the client’s goals, objectives and outcomes.
Over the years we have designed and implemented a wide variety of workshops, including kite making and flying; indoor and outdoor murals; art outside or in parks; art with children and adults with disabilities or special needs; art with at-risk kiddos; and projects involving special themes or ideas. We have created workshops for museums around a current exhibit and their permanent collections. We have created workshops where we "bring to life" famous artist couples who mill about in conversation and create art with participants. We have created projects for First Night Akron since its beginning in 1996, coming up with a unique and different one each year. We truly enjoy custom workshops because each one is a way for us to use our imaginations to make something happen that may never have been done before!
"Some people say, oh, I could have done that.
But...could have they thought of that."
~Pablo Picasso,
Spanish painter, 1881-1973
